Urine concentrations of MCP-1 in metabolically healthy obesity (MHO) were significantly lower than in metabolically unhealthy obesity (MUO): 0.65 pg/mL (interquartile range [IQR], 0.21 to 2.15) vs. 3.28 pg/mL (IQR, 2.05 to 5.22) (P=0.014). The concentration of NGAL in MHO patient urine was also lower than in that of MUO: 50.0 pg/mL (IQR, 49.4 to 62.2) vs. 98.3 pg/mL (IQR, 50.0 to 174.8) (P=0.04).
