Fig. 1. Flowchart of patient selection and grouping. All 822 patients had underwent percutaneous coronary intervention or coronary artery bypass graft and had type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Four hundred forty-four patients were excluded because they took antidiabetic medications other than sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors or dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) inhibitors. Two hundred eighty-nine of 378 patients were excluded for age or estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). Eighty-nine patients were distributed to SGLT2 inhibitor or DPP4 inhibitor groups.
